Emotional, Mental Attitude Effects Thought, Behavior, Health and Love Sensitivity

Why do good people habitually submit themselves to negative thinking, speech, circumstances or people or groups of people who harbor bad attitudes towards themselves, others, and life in general (especially those who are aware of how detrimental doing so is to emotional, mental and physical health)?

It should be no news flash that [negative] stress, if not well managed, can kill by various means and ways of manifestation. By identifying negative attitudes, and those who represent them, you would expect self-love and self-preservation (nature's first law) to repel repeated external attempts at negative intrusion(s). Some say it is love that causes one to endure the ugliness of another; perhaps it is non-nonsensical injustice to one's self-esteem and dignity.

Considering that “love” is good and one of life's most positive aspects, how does one willingly confuse love with enduring representations of external negative influences? And by doing so, what is the lesson taught to those whose negative disposition is paid attention to? There are times when love calls for nurturing and cultivating positive energy, while ignoring and refusing to give time, attention and energy to negative energetic 'flow'.

“Often the causes of developing a negative attitude towards life are more mental than physical. A bad relationship, poor self image, a history of abuse, stress, frustration and many other factors can change your overall attitude towards life which may directly impede your overall performance. Such tendencies are deep-rooted in mind and nurtured by excessive negative emotions.”

Quite often, a guilty conscious may be [falsely] used as an excuse for attempting to right the wrongs, or missteps, of the past. This is a mistake many single parent's make in trying to make up for teaching, or failing to teach, by appropriate example.

No matter who or what, when one gives time, energy and attention to negative attitudes (chronic complaints, ungratefulness, dissatisfaction, etc.) – we are sending profound signals to a universe that never sleeps, and by law, returns more of what one is responsive or receptive to.

Perhaps, although spoken to the contrary, sub-consciously, an inability, or lack of will, to consciously choose more positive and uplifting experiences may be just what one expects out of life – recurring hellishness – by way of conditioning. It becomes thoroughly detrimental when one repeats this process while simultaneously professing to want peace and spiritual calm. In other words, it's like sub-consciously loving drama and emotional instability, but claiming to not want more of the same; a form of 'dis-ease'!

The path to better days and better ways is a conscious choosing requiring full commitment to love of self, first and foremost, above sinking deeper in the negative quicksand and chaos of bitter souls and their inappropriate, non-productive attitudes. Moreover, it is less about “those”, and other external negative influences, and essentially about how one responds to each invitation to dine at the table of disharmony.
